What is Terra Productions?
| Terra Productions is a family owned Disc-Jockey service run by Lisa and George Ross in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We have been in the business since 1987. Our client base is from the Calgary and surrounding areas, although we have, on special occasions played for parties as far away as southern B.C. |
What We Offer:
|
Experienced Legal D-Jays: You get me, George, and my son Nathan who is in training and is becoming a great D-Jay. I have been in the business for more years than I like to admit.(around 30 or so) I still love the business, it is more a hobby than anything else. What other job do you have the opportunity to meet GREAT folks, listen to good music...AND...get paid for doing it? (I have a real job as well!) My philosophy is that I am there for my clients and their wishes take priority. I play mostly requests and put request cards out on the tables prior to the party. I also have a playlist for my clients to choose songs from. Please note we only play LEGAL CD's which are either from CD pools such as Promo Only or store bought recordings. We DO NOT play burned mp3's or copied CD's as this requires special licencing by the AVLA. For more information about AVLA licencing please click HERE. ALL TYPES OF MUSIC: We have a great selection of all types of music from golden oldies, old time rock and roll, country, pop, top 40, and dance. There are two types of music I choose NOT to carry. That is Heavy Metal and Hard Rap music. There is a copy of my music list available for download in the "Specials" Section of the WebSite which can be accessed from the menu at the top of this page. WEDDINGS ARE OUR SPECIALTY: I feel weddings are a very special occasion and I strive to make any wedding I play for a pleasant and memoriable experience. I am there for the Bride and Groom as it is their evening. I am selective with the song choices and if necessary, filter out inappropriate requests. I usually start the night off by playing the three songs chosen before hand by the couple. They are the "Wedding Dance", the "Bride's Dedication to her Dad" and usually followed by the "Wedding Party Dance". Most of the weddings I play for usually have me conduct the "Garter Toss" and the "Bouquet Toss" as well. Every wedding is unique so this format is not carved in stone. Quality Equipment: We only use professional quality equipment such as Denon, Numark, Peavey, and Chauvet which is reliable and can withstand the rigors of transportation and abuse. I use Crown Amps that I consider the best in the industry. We also have a good quality, stand-alone computer speaker system that is available for a small rental charge if it is required by our clients. |
